‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: The decision to visit Joshua

‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers finds that Barry and Kim Plath made the decision that they were going to visit Joshua’s grave with the rest of the family. They discussed inviting Micah and Moriah, we’ll see if they end up going to the cemetery with their Mom and Dad, but then they brought up the notion of Ethan and Olivia coming along.

I’ve never actually seen Barry get emotional, but I think this is probably the closest we’re going to get to it. He said he couldn’t bring Joshua back but he hopes that one day Ethan will change his mind about not having any contact with the family.

‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: The decision to visit Joshua

When talking about Joshua, Barry seemed to get a little misty-eyed. He said that the night before Joshua died, he said that was his last night with him and that they had read a book with ducks in it and how he used to point out the little ducks on the page.

It was the most endearing way I’ve ever seen Barry talk about one of his children. You could tell that at least for Barry, it’s a front. He’s not getting emotional because he’s trying to be strong for the rest of the family and just be “Dad”.

Kim worries me though, I haven’t seen her get emotional about Joshua yet. It just seems odd that she seems to be the more emotionless one in this situation. But maybe I’m not giving her enough credit.

Barry is holding out hope for a miracle when it comes to Ethan and Olivia. He says he still believes in miracles and that’s good, but I think in order for God to move then both Kim and Barry are goign to have to make a move themselves.

Yes, Ethan said that he didn’t want to have contact with them anymore but there were reasons why. The second they address those reasons is the second that Ethan and Olivia will feel comfortable associating with the Plaths again. It’s that simple and I don’t see why they’re not seeing it.

Perhaps it’s pride and that’s a terrible thing, not being able to admit that they’re wrong, or that their kids have a right to lead their own lives and not live by their rules once they’re out and married.

All I can say for Barry is, God helps those that help themselves, and I think Barry and Kim need to be reminded of that. Yes, it’s great to pray for a miracle, but you also need to make strides and do the work to make that miracle happen. Stay tuned!!!
