‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers indicate that Ethan was really taking one for the team when he agree to get couples’ tattoo with Olivia. It took him fighting against every ounce of Plath upbringing he had to be able to agree to get something, even a small something, done.
And even then, he almost halted the process entirely when Olivia said that she might want to add to it later on. She said that while it would still mean the exact same thing to her, Ethan thought if she added to it that it would change it. I think Ethan just didn’t want to have to get inked again to match it, possibly.

I don’t entirely blame him because getting a tattoo is, for one thing, permanent, two, it’s painful. Not everyone has the constitution to stand up to getting tattoos, I know I don’t. So I can’t say that I really blame his trepidation entirely.
However, I don’t get how he can go from being okay with it one minute to dragging his feet the next. Olivia had him look up tattoo designs and choose the design that they were going to get. I’m amazed that he even agreed to do that, considering how opposed to the whole process he seemed.
She also said that he seemed chill with it before but the second he walked in the door you could tell that he didn’t want to go.
Olivia was excited, but in the end she kind of admitted that she hadn’t taken Ethan’s feelings into consideration very much when making this decision. Yes, she wants to move on and break free from all their previous hinderences, including his family’s way of life and teachings, but she didn’t realize that maybe Ethan wasn’t quite on the same page as her yet.
Yeah, he caught up to her in the end, but it looked like Olivia has a thing or two to learn about patience, and that means that sometimes one has to just wait it out when it comes to their significant other. While Ethan did eventually agree to get the tattoo with Olivia, we wonder how happy with it he’s going to actually be. Stay tuned!!!
