This comes after Tom’s brother Robert filed for conservatorship amid her divorce battle from her soon-to-be ex-husband, Tom Girardi. It seems like Erika wants nothing to do wih her estranged husband. Here’s what you need to know.
‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Spoilers: Just How Fast Did Erika Jayne Dump Her Now Suffering Husband Tom Girardi?
As many RHOBH fans already know, the high-profile attorney is in the midst of a divorce from the reality television star. The blonde beauty has been accused of going through a ‘sham marriage’ with her husband, Thomas Girardi, and the fact that a high-profile Chicago law firm is accusing the RHOBH star and her husband in a federal lawsuit of a scheme to embezzle money from settlements related to the crash of Lion Air Flight 610 hasn’t made things any easier on them.
The federal lawsuit alleges that Thomas Girardi embezzled the money to keep up the couple’s celebrity status and to “project a public image of obscene wealth at all times, and at whatever the cost.”
And now Tom Girardi’s brother Robert has requested he act as conservator over his 81-year-old brother, as he’s allegedly having trouble taking care of himself — both personally and financially. Tom’s “current condition” has “sadly deteriorated to the point where he cannot care for himself without assistance,” a petition claims.
Of course, it didn’t take very long for fans and critics to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to social media to write such things as, “In having worked in social work for a long time, I have seen people decline quickly-almost overnight-when faced with overwhelming stress. In general, as people age, they are less able to handle stress. I guess Erika’s for richer, for poorer ended as soon as the money ran out. No matter what did or did not happen, I think one has a moral obligation to support someone they have been with and benefited from financially for over twenty years. Especially when they are elderly.”
Another critic wrote, “Wow! Erika sure skedaddled out of there in a hurry when the ‘petty cash’ till was empty and Tom was the one who needed help. If Tom’s mental abilities were so compromised why would she be upset with an old demented man who supposedly has no short term memory and can’t take care of himself?”
Needless to say, Erika herself has not made any comments about the situation.
