No Doubt She’s Single: Gwen Stefani Granted Annulment By The Catholic Church From Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani might have been married to her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale and had three children together with him but according to the Catholic Church, none of that has ever happened. In fact, there’s a new report that says the chart topper has been granted an annulment by the Catholic Church just so she can get married at a church again but this time with her live-in beau, Blake Shelton.

That’s right: the super religious hit maker wanted to get her first marriage annulled even though she’s been living in sin with her boyfriend for many years now. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Us Weekly, one source close to the situation said, “Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal. She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it’s official.”

The Roman Catholic Church does not allow remarriage after a divorce unless the earlier marriage is annulled. The insider went on to say that the annulment, which stood in the way of Stefani and Shelton tying the knot in a church, was a “huge relief” for the singer, who “wanted to get married by her priest and have the marriage recognized by the Catholic church.”

As many fans already know, country music star Blake Shelton constructed a chapel on the grounds of his Oklahoma ranch for he and Gwen to tie the knot in the new year. Now it seems the building blocks of Gwen’s wish to keep religion a large part of her life are on the way.
