Netflix’s ‘Cobra Kai’ season three finally dropped on New Years’ and has been #1 on Netflix’s trending ever since. In the third season of the show we see a lot more background of how Cobra Kai actually came to be, some flashbacks of John Kreese (Martin Kove) in Vietnam as well as following our favorite rivals, Johnny Lawrence (Billy Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) as they continue to navigate karate after the high school fight.

After the high school battle royale that took place at the end of season two, we were wondering where the show writers could take it after that! Well, they delivered with season three and in this article, we’re going to go through some very SPOILERY events so you’ve been warned.

Ali Is Back!

Ali Mills (Elisabeth Judson Shue) returns to town after chatting with Johnny online and they spend the day together. It almost looks like they may get together after Ali explains that she just had a divorce and Johnny seems over the moon. However, Johnny has his eyes set on another woman, Miguel’s mom, and realizes that he just needed this closure to be able to move on.

Netflix’s ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 3 Spoilers: Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) Goes To Japan, Johnny Lawrence (Billy Zabka) Helps Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) Walk Again & John Kreese (Martin Kove) Flashbacks

Johnny

We start off the season by wondering if Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) will walk again and how Patch Adams, sorry, I mean Johnny Lawrence will help him use his legs again. While in the hospital, Miguel still had no feeling in his legs and had to use a wheelchair for a few episodes. That is until Johnny took him to the magical Twisted Sister, and Dee Snyder helped cure his legs with rock. After tapping his foot, Johnny straps him to a harness and pulley system in his apartment. He holds him up and lets him go until Miguel stands on his own. Remarkably, this works!

Daniel

Meanwhile, Daniel LaRusso is dealing with problems of his own. His dealership’s business has been going down the drain and now his rivals are coming in to try to buy him out. Keeping his faith, Daniel denies him and makes a trip to Japan. The manufacturers there have signed an exclusive deal with his rival, but Daniel thinks he can talk some sense into them. While he’s there, a lot has changed since the 80s, and the small village of Tomei is now a mall. While there he runs into Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita) from ‘Karate Kid 2’. They reconnect and catch up after the last 30+ years and Kumiko gives Daniel a letter that Mr. Miyagi wrote the week he passed, detailing how Daniel-san helped him to be a better man.

While Daniel struggles to get the car manufacturers to work with him again, Kumiko introduces him to an old friend, Yuna (Traci Toguchi) who Daniel had help saved during the typhoon in ‘Karate Kid 2’! Turns out, she is the international sales rep for Doyona and helps Daniel to save his business! You put good out into the world, it will come back around!

The Kids

A bitter rivalry continues to brew between Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai. Friends have become enemies, but Miguel and Sam want to band together, because with Kreese at the helm of Cobra Kai now, they have a common enemy.

Robby ends up in juvenile detention for kicking Miguel over the stairs. Johnny misses his opportunity to visit him and Robby ends up walking out at the end of his sentence to John Kreese!

The season finale features the students of Cobra Kai attacking Johnny and Daniel’s students at Daniel’s home while they are out at an event. They destroy the house and eventually Hawk realizes that he’s on the wrong side and joins back with Miguel and Demetri.

After Daniel returns home to see the destruction he immediately goes to Cobra Kai to confront Kreese, who is already been through the wringer with Johnny Lawrence for teaching Robby. This is where Daniel and Johnny realize they must team together to bring down Kreese.
