‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers tells that according to Lydia Plath, God is her fashion designer and that is why she wears things that she feels are only honoring to Him. The way she sees it, the body is the temple where the holy spirit resides in us and therefore she wants to, at all times, be respectfully covered and reflective of that sentiment.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: You know what, Lydia? You’re allowed.
We’re not here to shame Lydia one bit for how she dresses, if she feels that her true self is expressed through modest but otherwise cute clothes, then, go right on ahead with your good girl self, Lydia. Not all girls are into dressing skimpy and provacatively, and Lydia doesn’t seem to be one of them.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: God is Lydia’s fashion designer
However, her sister Moriah Plath does bring up a valid point. She feels like Lydia has not really gotten to express herself beyond what the family expects her to be, and if the family expects her to be perfectly modest all the time then, knowing Lydia, she is probably going to do everyting within her power to embody that image.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: But is that really who she is, though?
On the surface, Lydia seems to be the most perfect good girl, and butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. But then she turns around and throws the most excellent, mean girl level shade at sister Moriah’s wardrobe, by saying that she has her ‘standards’ but Moriah doesn’t have standards because ‘she wears anything’.
Oh wow, maybe you need to discuss that little jab in your prayer closet later, Lydia, I’m not sure even God would approve of that one. I will hand it to her though, she managed to make that peach colored dress even cuter by rocking the little top underneath it.
When I first saw that dress on the previews, I thought the top was part of the dress and it complimented it well. But as it turns out, it wasn’t and that dress was spaghetti-strapped with a very deep sweetheart neckline.
Her second ensemble was a white, tennis dress that was honestly very cute, but Lydia said that it felt like she wasn’t wearing anything. She covered herself with a throw when brother Micah Plath came in, he thought that Lydia looked very good in Moriah’s clothes and I have to agree, she did.
But Lydia wasn’t comfortable. The third ensemble was the cutest yet, a black, polka-dot dress that, according to Lydia ‘for Moriah’s clothes wasn’t bad’, thank you for your most valued opinion, shade Queen Lydia. We now know what passes in your eyes. Good.
However, Moriah did have to come out later and apologize to Lydia for putting her through that little ‘fashion show’ but she says they’ve gotten over it… with the sheer level of contempt we saw from Lydia, I sure hope so. Stay tuned!!!
