’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers indicate that Sumit Singh was out celebrating his newly divorced status with his friend and his Dad with what looked to be coffee. (Not sure what that actually was, someone educate me?) Everyone was all smiles, including Sumit and even his Dad, who had previously been opposed to the union between his son and Jenny, seemed to be okay with this. However, we got the distinct feeling when Sumit’s friend left that things were about to go south, and boy howdy did they.
First, Sumit’s Dad started in on him about the money. He wanted to know what the plan was and how Sumit planned on paying him back. I almost expected him to ask for a timetable but I’m pretty sure that would have resulted in the answer, “Don’t worry Dad, it’ll be sometime before you croak.” well, hopefully at least.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Sumit’s troubles are not over
Sumit admitted that he had gotten a job as a Chef in a friend’s resteraunt but that he couldn’t be on full time because right now Jenny needed him as she didn’t speak the language and wasn’t working herself, technically, Jenny is retired and I doubt she wants to spend her golden years starting a brand new career, even though at the rate Sumit is going paying back his Dad she might have to.
When that didn’t get the answer his Dad wanted, his Dad started in on him about how it looked in their culture for Sumit to be marrying Jenny when she is older than both his parents. His Dad said that a marriage like this cannot produce a family, even whe Sumit himself said that he didn’t care.
It seems they are more concerned about how things look within their culture and within their family than their son’s actual happiness. You could see the betrayal on Sumit’s face when his Dad told him that if he tried to marry Jenny that they would stop him legally.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: What?
That’s a complete 180 from the message that they just gave Sumit by paying for his divorce. Sumit’s father maintains that he has only seen one girl and that was the problem behind his first marriage. Uh, no Daddio, the problem is he didn’t marry the right woman to begin with and that’s the reason the marriage dissolved, it had nothing to do with Sumit’s lack of dating experience.
Seriously, these people need to get out of denial and just accept that their son may not end up having the perfect Indian family like they wanted. He has a brother who is perfectly capable of giving them Grandkids if he hasn’t already, so lay off Sumit and let the poor guy get married. Geeze! Okay maybe it’s not that simple, but culture or not… they really need to give it a rest. Stay tuned!!!
