WWE News: Mustafa Ali Revealed As Leader Of Retribution During Match Against MVP

It was revealed during Raw last night that Mustafa Ali is the leader of the Retribution faction. Fans were stunned with the revelation, as very few believed that Ali would become a heel this soon after making his return to the company.

However, the company were keen to place Retribution back towards the top of the card, and the shock value that comes with Ali as being the leader certainly does that. But, where does that leave the group on Raw now, and what could potentially happen next?

WWE News: Ali Revealed As Group’s Leader

Retribution have been one of the biggest talking points on Raw for the past couple of months now. The unknown factor that came with the group because they were wearing masks was notably a reason for the surge in fans looking to find out more about the group.

The big revelation was made during a match between Ali and MVP on Raw last night, as Retribution arrived just as the Hurt Business threatened to get involved.

However, they weren’t able to interfere in the end, as members of Retribution appeared standing alongside Ali. MVP and Bobby Lashley both felt that they were going to beat down Ali, before he told the members to ‘get them’. It was a shocking reveal and one that now leads to the question of what potentially happens next, and why has Ali aligned himself with the group.

WWE News: Why Has Ali Aligned With Retribution?

There could be a host of reasons why Ali has formed a group that is hell-bent on making every superstars’ life a misery on Raw. The biggest of those reasons could be the fact that he was thrown out of the title picture after picking up an injury during WrestleMania season in 2019.

His injury meant an end to the push that he was receiving, with Kofi Kingston brought in instead of him.

It would be incredibly likely that Ali’s decision to align with Retribution could be down to this, and he could reveal that he felt he was treated unfairly and was never given the opportunity to show that he could shine in that position when he returned.

That would also explain why Retribution decided to get involved in a tag match involving Drew McIntyre a few weeks ago. We could be set to learn more on Raw next week.
