UFC News: Tensions Continue To Build As Tony Ferguson Issues Warning To Justin Gaethje And Khabib

One of the biggest fights in the world of UFC takes place at UFC 254, and the tensions ahead of the lightweight championship bout are continuing to rise. Tony Ferguson has now weighed in on the big fight to Ariel Helwani and has declared that he is ready to fight whoever reigns supreme in the octagon with the title on the line.

In the interview, Ferguson claimed that he was ready for whoever is holding the championship after UFC 254 as is prepared to face either Justin Gaethje or Khabib Nurmagomedov.

UFC News: Ferguson Issues Warning

The interview wasn’t for the fainthearted, as Ferguson unleashed all the aggression that he had following his defeat to Gaethje earlier in the year. He even stated that Gaethje was ‘welcome’ to have the belt but stated that he would be taking it back off him after the unified champion has been crowned.

That wasn’t the only stern words that he had during the interview, as he also spoke about the cancelled bout between himself and Dustin Poirier.

He claimed that he never knew of the plans and that the UFC were hesitant to sanction the bout. The exact reasons why the bout was pulled is still unknown, with some publications reporting that a fee couldn’t be agreed upon. However, Ferguson revealed that he now has his sights set on other opponents as the chance for that bout has now passed.

UFC News: Ferguson Prepared For The Winner

There will be an awful lot of eyes on the upcoming title bout between Khabib and Gaethje, but maybe none of those viewers will be as keenly observing as Ferguson. This latest challenge does indicate to the path that the eventual winner will be taking as Ferguson believes that he is due a re-match for the title that he lost in brutal fashion against Gaethje.

There were a lot of MMA fans believing that Ferguson would have easily gotten past Gaethje to set up the much-anticipated bout with Khabib, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

However, it still remains a fight that we will be likely to see at some point. But, it is likely that the fight will now not be happening until at least next year. Regardless, the interest in seeing Ferguson get back into the octagon could not be much higher.
