UFC News: UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs Munhoz Undercard Features Two High- Quality Light Heavyweight Bouts

UFC action will once again take centre stage this weekend, as UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs Munhoz promises to be entertaining. Frankie Edgar taking on Pedro Munhoz is the biggest fight on the card, as Munhoz will be looking to take down the competitive Edgar in the Bantamweight division. However, before that bout, there are two intriguing Light Heavyweight bouts for fans of MMA to enjoy.

UFC News: Ovince Saint Preux vs Alonzo Menifield

The fight directly before the Edgar vs Munhoz bout will see Alonzo Menifield take on Ovince Saint Preux. Menifield has enjoyed an excellent professional record in MMA, but will come into this fight having suffered his first defeat.

That defeat was a contentious one against Devin Clark earlier in the year as he was beaten via unanimous decision. Before that defeat, Menifield has won nine successive bouts.

During that run of wins, he beat Paul Craig, Vinicius Moreira and Dashawn Boatwright. Menifield has won eight of his nine bouts via knockout, with the other success coming via submission.

He will be facing off against Preux, who has lost three of his last four fights. His only victory during this run came in September last year as he beat Michal Oleksiejczuk via submission in the second round.

This will be Preux’s return to the light heavyweight division after being beaten in his heavyweight debut last time out against Ben Rothwell. It should be an interesting fight between these two, but it would be difficult to bet against Menifield since his performances have been stunning since arriving in the UFC.

UFC News: Marcin Prachnio vs Mike Rodriguez

This second light heavyweight bout on the card will see Mike Rodriguez take of Marcin Prachnio. Both of these fighters will come into this bout having lost last time out, which Prachnio has lost both of his previous fights in UFC.

He made his debut on the UFC on Fox 28 card as he was beaten by Sam Alvey via TKO. That was followed up by defeat in his last fight against Magomied Ankalajew, with that fight taking place nearly two years ago.

Rodriguez was beaten via KO by Da Un Jung in his last fight, which came after a NC against John Allan. Rodriguez’s last victory in UFC came in 2018 as he beat Adam Milstead via TKO. Rodriguez is the heavy favourite in the betting for this fight, and it would be hard to see him losing.
