As of press time, Katy Perry has been the only A-list star to have stood up and defended Ellen DeGeneres against all of the accusations that have been made against her. She took to her Twitter account to say, “I know I can’t speak for everyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen and on the Ellen Show.
Katy Perry Stands Up For Ellen DeGeneres
I think we all have witnessed the light and continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love and a hug, friend.”
Unfortunately, Katy’s message might come a little too late for Ellen as multiple sources have slammed Ellen DeGeneres for the toxic work environment that she apparently created behind the scenes. Former producer Hedda Muskat has gone on the record to detail the culture of abuse that she witnessed on the show.
Recalling an instance in which executive producer Ed Glavin verbally attacked the staff, Hedda said, “He just went off on them. His whole face turned red. We were stunned.”
To make matters worse, Ellen didn’t stand up for her team. Instead, she just laughed. Hedda continued, “Do you know what she did? She giggled. She crossed her legs up on the chair and she said, ‘Well, I guess every production needs their dog’ … And from then we knew. Ed was going to be the barking dog — her dog.”
So far Ellen herself has not made any public statement about the allegations that has been made against her.
