HBO’s ‘Perry Mason’ is a remake of the classic series but with a new twist as it focuses more on the origin story of the character from his time in World War I to his early years as the famous detective. Matthew Rhys stars as the titular character and knocks the character out of the park.
On HBO’s official YouTube channel, executive producer Robert Downey Jr. interviews Matthew Rhys about his performance and how hard it is to recreate such an iconic character. I had no idea Downey Jr. was a big part of this show coming together, but that just adds another level of something to it.
