CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find brought back memories of one of the most painstaking moments in Genoa City’s history with the 2005 death of Cassie Newman.
After being in a car accident, Cassie’s parents said goodbye to their sweet, loving little girl. The tragedy left the entire city shook to its core, destroyed the Newman’s marriage, and resulted in Nick looking for blood.
Following a car wreck, Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) fought tirelessly for her life in the hospital. However, on this time, the infection became too much, and it overtook her body. As the family prepares for her last breaths, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) both take alone time with Cassie.

Each parent expresses their love for Cassie and cry with her. The scene is incredible – heartbreaking, raw, and the acting is nothing short of legendary by all three cast members.
Meanwhile, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is concerned about going to jail, so he conjures up a plan with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to slip away quietly.
Despite his best efforts, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) isn’t letting Daniel out of her sight and the paparazzi is busy covering the heartbreaking news of Cassie’s death. Daniel will have a difficult time running away.
In lighter news, Mackenzie (Rachel Kimsey) works to win back over the heart of her ex-lover, JT (Thad Luckinbill). Silly girl, doesn’t she know he’s destined for Amelia Heinle…ahem, Victoria Newman? Oh, is that just in real life?
Needless to say, Wednesday was an incredibly heavy episode. But, in better news, Camryn Grimes character may have died in 2005, but she came back in Mariah for present day Genoa City! We still get our fair fix of the talented daytime actress.
