CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that, on Tuesday June 30th, Paul and Christine Week hits a speedbump with the dreaded mother-in-law. Paul William’s (Doug Davidson) mother, Mary Williams (Carolyn McCormick), poses a problem for Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) on December 14, 1994, right before the pair are set to wed. The monster in law shows up uninvited to Christine’s bridal shower and quickly tames the party – who needs to have fun before setting down anyways?
As Mary crashes the bridal shower, all of the women are quickly disheartened to realize that they have to tame their bridal shower events and act poised in front of Paul’s mom. Thankfully they have something else to draw their attention to! Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) hasn’t touched a drink all evening. After thoroughly questioned by a room full of women, she admits that she is pregnant. However, she leaves the big news for another day: She has no clue who the father is.

Meanwhile, things are rocky in the Newman household as Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) got wind that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) paid for Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) mom’s surgery. Come on, Nikki. Medical bills are expensive! You think she’d be celebrating because it was one of the kindest things Victor had done in a while at that point in time.
As Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) plans to pack her bags and hit the road with her son, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) puts up a fight! Unfortunately, several decades later and Billy Abbott (now Jason Thompson) is still in Genoa City and whiny as ever. (Potentially an unpopular option). John thinks that Jill will chase cash over her family. Which is a pretty judgemental assumption seeing that everyone in Genoa City seems to value the same thing. As we enter the middle of Paul and Christine Week, fingers are crossed that his mother hits the high road and their romance heats up a bit. What did you think of this episode?
