CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers is here with another throwback spoiler, this one coming to us all the way from May 16, 2005. In a Romance Week theme, there’s bound to be surprises galore, and that’s what we have going for us in this one. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) has something up his extra long sleeve for Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), and J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) informed Mackenzie Browning (Rachel Kimsey) that he has a new roommate, but who could it be? Things are going to get interesting in Genoa City, so let’s grab some snacks, kick back, and enjoy it.

There’s something about soap operas that scream surprise getaways. It’s one of the few things more rampant than marriages and double crosses. It’s what helps give us hope when we feel our favorite characters have betrayed us. In Michael’s case, he previously pushed things too far (This is so a Michael thing to do) as Lauren was upset that he hadn’t been talking to her (Seriously, shouldn’t lawyers know about misdirection?). Despite her being hurt, he managed to weasel out an agreement where she’d indulge his fantasies for an hour or so. So, bound by her verbal agreement, she changes into a beautiful dress and they head to the Colonnade Room. And this is where the surprise awaits.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For June 10: Michael Whisks Lauren Away – J.T. Surprises Mackenzie
When they entered, Lauren was shocked to find Michael had it set up as a special casino for them and only them. The celebration commences with some dancing, champagne, and winning a few hands at blackjack. All in all, it was a well-executed plan by Michael as Lauren is happy with him again. This also signals the next phase of his surprise, as when the casino dealer turns her cards over, “Marry Me” is written on them. While we all know how they eventually end up, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers think this is one of the best setups bar none. Kudos to Michael for thinking outside the box and not doing the engagement ring in a flute of champagne.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For June 10: Surprise, roommate
Nothing is worse than getting kicked while we’re down, and that’s something Mackenzie has been dealing with since listening to her grandmother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). While she was thinking about that, J.T. decided to give her a call. After a brief exchange, he informed her that he already found a new roommate and that she had invited him to Mexico. The added catch came as another shock: he needs Mac to come and get her things immediately.
This has so much potential to be one of those scenes we remember for years afterwards for all the wrong reasons. So, of course, Mac takes the bait and headed out to collect her stuff, claiming he’s a bigger jerk than she thought. Once there, she found J.T. wearing a Mexican hat, and making tacos and margaritas. It’s a party, and it appeared he called her to come over to rub it in her face.
Just as she’s about to kill him, J.T. admitted that no one was coming by, and that the party was for her. This is one of those episodes that shows what proper planning can mean when it comes to winning the hearts of the ones we love. It sometimes just takes some imagination.
