NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that Melissa Reeves who plays Jennifer Horton just pulled quite possibly the stupidest move ever and cancelled herself. No, she didn’t spit on an old lady or yet a baby across a busy highway, rather she liked two Instagram posts by anti-BLM activist Candace Owens. By far one of the most controversial tweets that she liked was where Candace called for the people of BLM and the “radical left” to pick a few states and call it “The United Freaks of America” which, gotta say, surprises me that Missy would be liking that but I guess in times like these some people can’t help but let their white privilege show.
When one fan came out and defended Reeves’ liking of the post as a simple difference of opinion and co-star Linsey Godfrey who plays Sarah Horton simply said, “Nah there is no difference in opinion on racism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia.” which prompted another fan to say that she had met Melissa at some DOOL events and found her “completely lovely and non-judgemental” to which Godfrey replied, “Yea but even the nicest people can have awful views. Plenty of nice people have awful moral compasses. I can’t associate w/ it because it makes me a hypocrite. I condemn all those with harmful beliefs.” Wow, tell us how you really feel, Linsey! Lamon Archey, who is African American even responded to her tweet with a gif saying, “Who else, ya’ll?”

This isn’t the first time Reeves has basically cancelled herself. A few year ago amid all the marriage equality drama she came out in support ot Chik Fil A, a business which does not support the LGBTQIA+ community at all and said that her stance was guarded under that one right that we like to bandy about so often – freedom of speech. Freedom of speech and differences of opinion is really not the issue here, nor is lack of social awareness or education. Melissa Reeves is a grown woman who is perfectly aware of the result that harmful views can have. But the time for having a difference of opinion is over. It is truly disappointing that she would display this level of ignorance for the issue at hand. I guess what they say is true and that systemic racism isn’t unlearned in a day.
