Not only was Princess Anne one of the last royal family members to appear at a royal engagement before the coronavirus lockdown began, but she is now the first person to make a public appearance as she will be headed back to work before anyone else. According to the Daily Mail, Princess Anne will be the first royal to return to work in person as she will visit Covid-19 workers at the Duke of Gloucester Barracks next week, despite the fact that she’s in the ‘at risk’ age group. As many fans know, Princess Anne is 69. Should the engagement go ahead as planned, it will mark a return to work in-person for the British royal family.
British Royal Family News: Princess Anne Will Be The First Member Of The Monarchy To Make A Public Appearance
The British monarchy have been holding royal engagements virtually through video apps such as Zoom since March because of the coronavirus. Queen Elizabeth has been holed up at Windsor Castle while Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have been in isolation at their private estate at Balmoral Castle. Prince William and Kate Middleton, meanwhile, have been with their family at Norfolk since mid-March.
This comes after many royal critics have slammed the British royal family for apparently “hiding in their castles” even though many European royals, including the Spanish royals and the Dutch queen, have resumed public engagements. So far there is nothing in the royal diary for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
