TLC ’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: The Business Of Love – How Much Do ’90 Day Fiance’ Members Get Paid? 

TLC ’90 Day Fiancéé’ spoilers find that when you think of reality TV shows you don’t often think of the cast members getting paid. When I first got acquainted with these types of reality TV shows I honestly thought that they were ‘contestants’ and in the end the best couple won some kind of huge monetary prize. Little did I realize that the prize was a green card! Ha! Well, I guess in some situations, that would be considered prize enough. So at first, no I didn’t think that the people were getting paid at all, but the more research I did, I realized that there is one motivator above all else that can make people put the most intimate details of their lives on display… and that is money. So without further ado, let’s delve into the dirty details and find out all about the coin involved in ’90 Day Fiancé’.

According to some sources, American cast members of ’90 Day Fiancé’ are paid $1,000-$1500 to be on the show. Cast members of Before the 90 days are paid $500-$1,000, and for attending the tell-all special, they are paid $2,500. It’s not said how this pay is actually structured, if it’s per-episode, up-front, if they just pay per-diem until the limit is reached, or if they tack it all onto one big check at the end of the season and pay all the cast then. And did I say just the American cast members? Yes, yes I did. The foreign cast members do not get paid to be on the show whatsoever, but that is bound up in legal reasons, it is illegal to pay someone who doesn’t have a green card, so don’t think the foreigners from 90 days are over here stealing our jobs, they literally can’t, people!

While we’re talking about not paying people, TLC also doesn’t pay in-laws and friends of the cast members to be on the show. I can kind of see this because chances are unless it’s an on-going storyline (here’s looking at you, Yolanda’s daughter!) friends and family are only going to be seen maybe once or twice on this show and perhaps appear in phone calls after that. The story is not about them, but rather about the American castmate’s relationship. If the friend or family member is likable enough they might get a bit of a social media following out of it. Maybe if they’re interesting enough they might be approached for more opportunities on their own with TLC but at least on 90 days we know that they don’t make banks at all.

Luis Mendez, been quoted as saying that ’90 Day Fiancé’ not only does not pay their foreign cast members but they leave them with a lifetime of bad fame as well. He said that they just used their immigrant cast and that he didn’t get paid one dime for his time on the show. Again, this goes back to a US Production being unable to pay someone who doesn’t have a green card, they can’t pay them legally, but it looks like they’d work out some kind of deal with the foreign networks that air the show that is able to pay the members from their own country to make sure that these guys got compensated for their time. Hey, I’m just saying that it’s something that the higher-ups at TLC should consider! Just a suggestion.

The source did not say anything about violating the NDA agreements before the show was over, which was primarily what I was looking for and if that affects a castmember’s pay. I could see where it would but yeah. It literally does not say one thing about that so maybe the pay is just docked? There were some rumors swirling that since Lisa and Usman have broken the NDA agreements so many times that they would not be getting compensated for their time on the show. Literally, they couldn’t compensate Usman because he does not have a green card (Yet, to my knowledge). Lisa however, may have just shot herself in the foot if she was counting on the money from her stint on Before the 90 days because she has been breaking the NDA agreement almost from day one on social media. Yikes! Well, I guess if Lisa doesn’t get paid we’ll hear that raspy, alleycat scream all over social media and then we’ll know. Stay tuned!!!
