British Royal Family News: Prince Charles Opens New Hospital For Coronavirus Patients

British Royal Family News finds that it has been revealed that Prince Charles will officially open a new hospital on Friday afternoon. The NHS Nightingale will be dedicated to helping COVID-19 patients, but as expected, the Prince of Wales will not be opening the hospital in person.

The announcement was made by Clarence House on Friday morning. Charles has only just beaten the deadly virus himself, after he had tested positive for the virus last week. The Prince is now out of self-isolation and will appear via video link to open the new hospital.

British Royal Family News: Where Is The New Hospital?

The venue for the new hospital will be a familiar one for residents in London. The ExCel Convention centre is where the establishment will be. It has been transformed over the last couple of weeks, so that it will be able to house 4,000 patients.

Charles will appear through video from his home in Scotland, where both he and Camilla are currently self-isolating. He will say a couple of words to mark the opening of the new facility. The opening of the new medical facility is likely to have a huge impact on the number of people that have affected by the virus.

British Royal Family News: Politician To Attend Opening

Prince Charles will not be able to attend due to his old age, but there will be a member of Parliament present for the opening. Matt Hancock will be in attendance for the opening. The Health Secretary himself has only just came out of self-isolation after testing positive for the virus.

The ExCel centre is only one of a number of establishments that are being transformed to help with the battle against COVID-19. Birmingham International Airport is also being transformed to help the effort. Meanwhile, numerous soccer clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have opened their doors for the NHS.
