NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal that no one learns. In the Tuesday, February 18th episode, we saw the end of Gabi DiMera’s (Camila Banus) scheme. In an actually pretty good setup, they managed to get Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) a not-rigged pacemaker, and Julie went off on Gabi enough to make Gabi set off the app of death. Of course, we learned Julie was just faking (she’s apparently good at fake heart attacks…). But what comes next is a big issue in town.

First off, let’s deal with Gabi. Now, we’ll admit to having a slight soft spot for her ever since she and Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) got together. She really showed a vulnerable, human side during the relationship and Stefan’s death. And let’s face it, Camila rocked Gabi’s grief. But, there was a problem.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Why Salem Won’t Change?
See, Gabi’s been down this road before. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal she tried to get revenge on both Stefan and Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) previously. These schemes eventually fell apart, and we think it’s because she takes things way too far. She doesn’t seem to have the self-awareness to realize she might have been better off getting some therapy and getting the you-know-what out of that poisonous town. Yes, we said it. Instead, Gabi stuck around and used Julie’s life as a bargaining chip to hurt Lani Price (Sal Stowers). Gabi, girl… these people just aren’t worth it. Seriously.
As for the plan, her emotions got the better of her. The poor girl loses her cool and, as we mentioned, played right into everyone’s hands. And let’s not forget the utter stupid in keeping the app to begin with, as well as getting the new pacemaker rigged. If she’d just accepted her win and left, or at least deleted the evidence she had access to such an app, it would have been fine. Especially once Julie needed the pacemaker changed. She also doesn’t think ahead. She is still so wounded about losing time with Ari that she put herself right back into that position. But Salem isn’t much better.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not An Ounce Among Them…
We contend that Salem is just as guilty for what happened as Gabi. Despite Gabi being justified in shooting a guy in self-defense who was abusing her, Julie still acts holier than thou about it. She threw it in her face during the reveal of Gabi’s plot and sounded just as mad as if it happened that day. Why is it that she gets villainized, but the abuser is treated like a poor, saintly victim?
Then, we have Abigail. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate she went off on how she gave Gabi a second chance, as though they were doing her this huge favor. Right. After her alter ruined her life and subjected her to severe trauma. We notice we haven’t really seen any genuine sorrow from her for what she did. It strikes us more as a “Well, I was sick then, and I’m not now. We’re even,” thing. And we won’t even get started on how Gabi was with Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) first, and it was basically a cheating situation. Lani expressed her deep sorrow for accidentally shooting Stefan, but has she truly ever made amends for her part at the end of that relationship? Has she ever tried to get Gabi any kind of help? Has the town?

There’s saying, “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Salem has a habit of ignoring/blowing off the sins of the chosen ones while throwing away those they deem as less than—even when their sins are just as bad, or worse. We mentioned once this is how they helped create Gabi, as well as Stefan. No one gave him a real chance either, it seems. Until they’re willing to eat a little humble pie and take responsibility for their own sins, things won’t change in that town.
