Univision Rubí spoilers: All about Camila Sodi

Rubí spoilers reveal the star, Camila Sodi is a name you should probably know. Currently, she’s playing the lead in Rubí, a shortened remake of the classic novela about a dangerous and mysterious woman. But before that, she played Isabel in Falsa Identidad (Fake Identity), a Telemundo series about a woman who escapes an abusive husband. But there’s much more to know about this actress. Let’s fill you in.

Rubí Spoilers: Famous family

Camila Sodi is part of the Sodi family. They’re a prominent Mexican family that even has their own Wikipedia page. The line is full of politicians, acheologists, doctors, actors, and more. One of the names you might recognize is Thalia Sodi. She’s a Mexican singer/actress who starred in the Maria trlogy of novelas. She’s also married to Tommy Mottola and has her own clothing line as well as other ventures. You might even know her from the Spanish version of “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia. She’s Camila’s aunt, and the resemblance between them is stunning. But they share another thing in common.

Rubí spoilers: Multi-talented

Much like Thalia, Camila is also a singer. Rubi spoilers indicate she sings the theme, “¿Quién le importa?” (Who cares?) Her vocals are reminiscent of her famous aunt’s, while also having her own distinct sound. All these similarities come with a downside, though.

Rubí spoilers: Comparisons

Remakes of novelas are nothing new. The Paraíso franchise was a Mexican series, before becoming a movie, before eventually making its way to Telemundo for five seasons. Camila’s aunt’s work has also had many forms. Check out Maria la del Barrio and Mari Mar on wikipedia and you’ll see there have been several versions of these shows. Rubí is just the latest in the bunch, and it won’t be the last. Televisa, which provides a lot of content to UniVison has a franchise, Fabrica de Sueños. It’s a collection of shortened novela remakes. Rubi spoilers reveal this is the third in this series, which more to come. But the success of this fueled talk about Thalia’s novelas coming back. Camila responded to the talk recently, and it shows the downside to a recognizable family.

During a promotional appearance, Camila responded to a question of whether she’d like to take one of her aunt’s famous roles. She seemed open to the idea, as she mentioned growing up on them, as well as her affection for her aunt. However, she ultimately said she probably wouldn’t end up doing it, because people would compare and criticize the two interpretations. It’s a totally understandable hesitation. However, we do think she could handle the job.
