Netflix’s ‘Ragnarok’ Official Trailer: Releases January 31 – Follow The Son Of Thor In This New Series

Netflix’s Ragnarok releases this month, and the official trailer is here! No, this isn’t Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, but a new series coming to Netflix. According to a summary on IMDB, “A small Norwegian town experiencing warm winters and violent downpours seems to be headed for another Ragnarok. Unless someone intervenes in time.” Ragnarok, in Norse mythology, signifies the end of the world. Luckily, this town has a new kid in town who may have what it takes to combat the forces of evil. While not the Marvel superhero Thor, he does seem to possess the ability of Thor. In Norse mythology, he possesses the power of thunder and lightning. He is also associated with strength, storms, hallowing, and fertility.

Surprise! This is all due to the fact that Magne is Thor’s son! This will explore his two sons, Modi and Magne, but whether or not we will get more information about it is unknown.

Netflix’s ‘Ragnarok’ Official Trailer – Releases January 31

The six-episode series launches this month and stars relative newcomer David Stakston. The show will follow Magne (David Stakston) as his family moves to a small town and he discovers his abilities. Though, he will quickly learn he is not alone with these powers. The popular kid also seems to be relative to some evildoers who wish to see the town destroyed.

Scandinavian Series

Netflix has widened its reach with many new series. For instance, many new Spanish shows are on or coming to the streaming service. It’s always interesting to see how they produce and create shows outside of English. So it should be noted that this show, will indeed by subtitled for English speakers.

This should not dissuade you from watching it, however, as it appears to be a great show. While it does make watching something a little more tedious, Ragnarok looks like something you don’t want to miss.

A Series Similar To ‘Smallville’?

I see a lot of similarities from the trailer to the popular show Smallville. While Smallville dealt with a high school Clark Kent struggling with his powers, Ragnarok gives off a similar vibe. Magne and his brother move to a new city and are both in school together. Meanwhile, Magne discovers his powers. Plus, wouldn’t you know it, the bad guy’s kid is also in the same school! If you are interested in all about Norse mythology, or just good television, Ragnarok is something to keep your eye on. It will be here sooner than you think, so set that reminder on Netflix! It releases this month, January 31.
