It’s only been four days since Netflix released Chilling Adventures of Sabrina music video, “Straight to Hell” and we’re still struggling with why. We get it, it’s marketing. Netflix has a popular show, it’s demographic is teenage girls so they make a pop music video. Though, as we discussed before this could be the start of something nobody wants. I’m looking at you Riverdale.
Riverdale was a popular show. I say was because it’s suddenly changed into a music video thing. They have several episodes that turn into High School Musical and that’s not what a lot of viewers signed up for. It’s an odd choice and it hasn’t been paying off for Riverdale as it’s lost a lot of viewers online.
Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’: Behind The Scenes Of That Music Video
Many fear its cousin, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina may fall victim to this. A few days ago they released the “Straight to Hell” music video with mixed reactions from viewers. While some enjoyed it, many were confused and hoping this wouldn’t be the outcome for the show. Through the weekend, we seemed to forget about it thankfully, until Netflix uploaded this behind the scenes video from the shoot.
Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ – Behind The Scenes Of That Music Video
In the video, we see Kiernan Shipka (Sabrina) singing a pop tune about, you guessed it, going to Hell. Though, the video is just odd. It’s shot weird and the cuts seem to just be glamour shots of the cast. It’s not very coherent and doesn’t give us any information about the third season. Which is why we’re here in the first place. We’ve had a teaser about the third season, but never a full-fledged trailer. Now it seems, Netflix is trying to pass off the music video as some kind of trailer. It gives us nothing about the plot and is just a marketing ploy.
This behind the scenes video doesn’t do much in the way of anything either! It talks about how much fog they used and how shirtless Gavin Leatherwood was. Usually, when you have a behind the scenes or featurette with the actors and actresses we learn a bit more. This just seems like a dud through and through, unfortunately. While fans wanted an honest to goodness trailer the new season is less than two weeks away at this point. Might as well wait it out and count this as an odd attempt by Netflix. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina part three releases January 24, only on Netflix.
