NBC ‘Days of Our Lives'(DOOL) Spoilers tease that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) is going to return to this earthly plane without a heart. I have wracked my brain, wondering if there’s ever been a case like this in the history of Salem ever and the only thing I can think of is that a long time ago, Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) was said to have given away Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford) organs but here he is running around Salem alive and well like nothing happened so there’s that one instance, but no one’s making a big deal out of it. (However if Jack was walking around without a heart that would totally explain a lot of things that happened during his political career and if you’re a former Once Upon A Time fan you will totally get what I’m talking about, but I digress.)
But Stefan’s death was different, there was no secret government anything or any evidence that he faked his death, rather it was a tragedy that no one could have prevented. He died saving his Mother, Vivian Alamain (then played by Robin Strasser) from a bullet fired by Lani Price (Sal Stowers) and being shot in the throat no one could actually save him. (Yeowch, that is still such a metal way to go.) So this begs the question of how anyone could come back from a death like that. Here are a few theories.

Here’s a theory, maybe Stefan had a previously heretofore unknown twin brother who had mafia debts and was willing to escape them in the only manner he knew how, by sacrificing himself for his birth Mom that he never knew, Vivian Alamain. Okay, that’s actually a pretty way out theory and I don’t even buy it myself. But unknown twins have been done before, and the last thing that Stefan said to Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) before he left was that he would be back. There’s also the point that there could have been a totally unrelated look-alike that got in the way of the bullet and Vivian which might would explain the reason Vivian fled instead of staying behind and helping her son but again, I don’t buy this. I just have to put these two theories out there.

Since Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) seems to be this all-powerful semi supreme being (I’m only half joking here), and he is still on the DiMera payroll and he’s experimenting with putting people’s consciousness onto a chip, whose to say that he couldn’t be diversifying his options and running a secret body farm at one of the DiMera properties (if the DiMera mansion in Salem has a secret tunnel in it, I imagine the other ones come equipped with them as well.) where he regularly harvests organs of those unlucky enough to, ahem, shall we say, tick off the head guy in charge. Who, at this point, would be Stefano DiMera. (formerly Joseph Mascolo, now played by Steven Nichols.) But why Stefan, why not anyone else?

Besides the whole ‘shot in the throat’ thing, Stefan, unlike his Father who had a brain tumor was pretty much in perfect working order when he died. So it makes sense that Dr. Rolf would have been able to salvage him and implant a heart from the body farm and maybe, just maybe reconstruct his throat so that he could breathe and/or speak (I mean, the man’s supposedly a medical genius after all). But there could also be another reason entirely for the fact that Dr. Rolf chose to do such a magical restoration on Stefan instead of say, his Dad.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives'(DOOL) Spoilers: Stefan is the one true heir to DiMera enterprises
As we all know there’s been a lot of controversy over who’s set to inherit the crown of DiMera Enterprises, so to speak, lately. Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) claims to be the one true Phoenix, even has a tattoo of it on her back. (Or she did.) There’s also Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) but he seems to be rather occupied at the moment with other things, namely, his wife Anna DiMera (LeAnn Hunley) and there’s the fact that he’s getting on a bit in years. Lately, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) has come back on the scene and he and wife Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) have been battling his widow, Gabi, for the proverbial throne. So if Dr. Rolf had put his backing into Stefan as the rightful heir to DiMera, then no doubt he would save him. Also, maybe it was in Stefano’s will that Stefan, being the bearer of his name, get DiMera, who knows? No one’s ever actually seen Stefano’s will yet.
