‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers find that from what we can gather, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is an adult. But just because someone is chronologically an adult does not mean that they are psychologically mature by any means. So let’s take a look at Thomas and just how old he is, really. So as we all know Thomas was the result of the marriage between Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Dr. Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo). He didn’t have the easiest beginnings as Taylor almost miscarried him from stress because she witnessed Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) getting her hooks into her man once again and it was a very stressful occasion for her. But fortunately both Mom and Baby survived and ow here Thomas is. That would’ve been sometime in 1997. Some of us remember 1997 very well, some of us were high school age in 1997.
Thomas Forrester was not among that majority. He was in utereo. In spite of how old Thomas may look, the fact ot the matter is, chronologically he’s only 21 years old. If he was born in 1998 and it’s 2019 then he is 21. Which means, in spite of how it may look, Thomas is not exactly all that emotionally mature. If we’re going by actual, chronological age as opposed to the SORASed age that he probably is, then that means that just a few years ago, Thomas graduated high school, which means… he’s just coming off his hormone-riddled teenage years.

How has he come so far in the fashion world, you ask? For one thing, his Dad, Ridge Forrester, a famous designer could probably pave the way just a teeny bit. Another thing, Thomas is a very talented designer and sometimes talent can carry you a long way in the fashion industry. He also grew up in that industry so arguably he doesn’t really have a lot of legwork to do in the education department. In a field like fashion design, a lot goes by talent and who you know, it’s sort of akin to the entertainment field in that sense. It’s not rocket science, diploma might help but in the long run it doesn’t matter all that much.

And what does this mean about little Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri)? Well, since Caroline Spencer was born in 1987 we could argue that she was a full-fledged adult when we met her that she could very well be older than Thomas and if, again, we’re going by his chronological age this could have been the result of a teenage pregnancy which could totally explain his lack of parenting skills and his tendency to throw caution to the wind at times when it concerns little Douglas.
It would also make Ridge Forrester’s position as a Dad seem a lot more sympathetic and a lot less ‘ready for senior care’ and Brooke’s position as a bit more monsterous. It could also explain some of Thomas’s obsession with Hope. If he is indeed that young then it would really explain the level of attachment and why he’s processing everything so badly. But, chances are B&B doesn’t recognize his chronological age and is instead going by his SORASed age which is probably at least a decade more advanced. Either way, emotionally, it looks like Thomas is stuck at age 21.. Hopefully he grows up soon. Stay tuned!!!
