‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal a fan favorite is on their way to Salem. Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) has announced her return to the series. While we’ll have a bit of a wait until her character is back on the scene, this surprise leaves us with a couple of questions. Here’s what you need to know.

The last time we saw our favorite Salem troublemaker, she came to see Will Horton (Chandler Massey) on his death bed. In a tragic twist, while he was saved at the last minute, another family member was not so lucky. During her visit, they learned Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay) passed away. Sami stuck around long enough to attend the funeral, as well as pay tribute in a speech. Since then, we have no idea what she’s been up to exactly. Last mention of her was when Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) got in touch to ask if Sami sent her flowers. So, what could bring her back?

Let’s be honest. It’s hard to say why she’s back. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that if Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) can decide to become a nun, anything is possible. Our best guess is her return has something to do with Will again. With her son locked up for murder, we imagine she’d want to see him at some point. Sami doesn’t strike us as the type to turn her back on Will, and Will’s going through more than his prison time. He’s also mourning his relationship with Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith). Having said all that, the writers will probably have some other big reason for the return in store. After all, it’s a long time between now and summer 2020, when her episodes are supposed to air. But is she the only one coming back?
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: All better?
A big reason Sami is still out of Salem is EJ DiMera (Trey Baxter). After learning her long-lost love was alive and horribly injured, she took control. Since then, they’ve been out of the country. Sami found a facility she believed will better serve EJ’s needs. With so much time having passed, we can’t help but wonder if he’ll be by her side. First off, we can’t imagine he wouldn’t have made enough progress by now. Secondly, Stefano DiMera (Stephen Nichols) made mention of EJ recently. He’s upset about not being by his son’s side. Usually, they don’t mention characters just to do it. There’s a plot reason behind invoking an out-of-town person’s name. Usually, that means they’re on the way back. Viewers will have to wait and see if that’s the case. As we said, it’s going to be a while before we see either on screen again.
