‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: So ‘Princess Gina’ returns, now what?
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers finds that so lately, Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) is on this ‘resurrection’ kick, and is resurrecting people right and left (only to have them jump ship in two weeks, I’m looking at YOU, Vivian Alamain!), now he’s decided that he’s going to resurrect Princess Gina. Why? Why not! Seems fun. In all honesty though, he probably does have some plans for her, but who knows what they are? If Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) was still around, I’d say it had something to do with him, but since he’s not, we can only guess at what Dr. Rolf would need with an expert art thief.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Informed story line or Mandela effect, you decide!
Apparently Princess Gina was a big deal in Stefano DiMera‘s crime ring in the 1980’s, she was partnered with John Black and ended up falling in love with him. (Does anybody remember this story line because I was alive and fully conscious in the 1980’s and I don’t. Mandela effect anyone?) Apparently she didn’t like it when John was reassigned and became a really closed-off individual and also completely useless to Stefano, but I suppose being royalty working for Stefano was just something to do while she was bored, really, not a full-time gig. In 1998 we learned of her prior existence, and that she was apparently the Mother to Greta Von Amberg who’s Mother was previously thought to be deceased.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: John Black? Prince Charming he ain’t!
Apparently Princess Gina had been imprisoned in France all that time, waiting on John to come rescue her. Poor gal, that took a long minute and a half, didn’t it? She was practically down for the count insane until she spotted Greta and the sight of her daughter and that seemed to snap her back into reality for whatever reason. Maternal instinct, maybe? You decide. When Princess Gina saw that it was no use and John would never leave his beloved “Doc” Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) she switched gears and decided she would pretend to be Hope, and marry Bo Brady (Peter Reckells) instead, all the while keeping the real Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) prisoner! (If your head’s spinning by now, we at DSD won’t judge. It’s a lot to take in.)
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: She’s dead Jim – I think?
At their wedding, Princess Gina became violent, brandished a gun and tried to shoot not only Marlena but Bo’s son, Shawn-Douglas! (Seriously lady, what did the kid do you?!) A struggle ensued between her and Bo and he ended up shooting her and she later died of her wounds. However, Bo later found out that he hadn’t shot Hope after all (thank God!) it had just been a look-alike imposter! Phew!
She’s come back several times in spirit form, once appearing to her daughter Greta in 2001 and apparently to Marlena in 2019. She even returned as an alternate personality of Hope’s when Stefano wanted an artifact that had been stolen from him, and now it seems that she’s on her way back again… but what on earth could Dr. Rolf even be playing at here? What does he want? What’s his ultimate goal in resurrecting Princess Gina?
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: What are Dr. Rolf’s reasons?
In addition to her talent as an art thief, Princess Gina was an excellent forger as well. Speculation suggests that Dr. Wilhlem Rolf needs a document forged and who better to do this than the expert forger herself? You’d think that knowing all the character he knew while he was mixed up with the DiMera clan would have acquainted him with at least a few others with this tremendous talent but I guess not! Something about Princess Gina is special.
Or maybe, just maybe he needs to know where a certain treasure of Stefano’s is and Princess Gina was the only one who could help him locate it. A tired old plot but it would do in a pinch. Still, something tells me it’s a forgery that’s going to go down this time, but that’s just speculation. To see what will really go down with the whole Princess Gina plot we’ll just have to stay tuned!!!
