Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers for Friday, July 5 indicate that the deed has been done. Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) plan went off without a hitch, and his little son played his part quite well. He proposed to Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and asked her to marry his Daddy and be his new Mommy. This is the part where Hope.exe stopped working.

The look on Hope’s face was just as shocked as we were, first off that the kid didn’t mess it up. Child or not, this was probably a pretty nerve-wracking thing for little Douglas Forrester (Henry James Samiri) to do! He truly does love Hope and I can imagine it would be terribly awkward for him if he didn’t accept. Thomas tried to look just as shocked as Hope but we saw the looks that he snuck Douglas pre-proposal, I’m just sorry that Hope didn’t.

Rock, hard place, Hope!
Of course he will act all innocent, but what child has the kinds of cash to present his new Mommy with that kind of a ring?! Right Thomas, sure, it as all the kid’s idea. Hope has been put between a rock and a hard place though! She doesn’t want to hurt little Douglas’s feelings, so she’ll tell him that she needs time to think about this because its a very important decision. Of course she’s not going to turn him down flat, he’s what… four? Five? That kind of rejection at that age could be really detrimental, so Hope plays it safe… for now.

Meanwhile, Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) will be struggling with pangs of conscience. He felt bad before about knowing the truth about Hope’s baby and not letting her know, but now that Emma Barber (Nia Sioux) is dead because of this secret, he’ll start getting angry. He thinks that Thomas has something to do with Emma’s death (and boy is he observant!) but obviously doesn’t have any proof yet, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t prepared to try and go get it.
He’ll be talking to Charlie Webber (Dick Christie), Forrester Creation’s head of security. Perhaps he’ll inquire if there’s any way to track where Thomas was the night of Emma’s death. Xander and Charlie will team up, but it looks like Xander will keep him in the dark as to exactly why he’s doing this, at least for awhile. Stay tuned!
