It begins at Lily (Christell Khalil) and Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) place, where they are getting ready for Neil’s memorial service. Everyone is dressed and ready to go, including the twins. Lily takes a look at all of the flowers and the cards that her loved ones have sent her. Over at the Abbott House, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) share a moment before he takes a look at his sobriety chip. Elsewhere, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) holds her black dress and sighs a little bit to herself. Billy (Jason Thompson) is with the Newmans and helps Victoria (Amelia Heinle) put her dress on. Malcolm arrives at Devon’s (Bryton James) and they embrace one another.

At the memorial service, Devon gives his sister Lily a much needed hug. Everyone begins to sit down in their pews while Ana (Lorna Lott) sings. Devon begins to cry near the doorway. This is too painful for him, and his facial expression says everything that he is thinking. He finally takes the stand and admits that he feels lost with Neil’s death, and that it’s a mixed feeling of abandonment and confusion. He says that Neil Winters made Genoa City a better place. Everyone begins to cry. Devon and his sister Lily shed even more tears as the reverend says that Neil was a man that was loved by his entire family.

Then it’s Lily’s turn to get up and speak, but she can’t do it. She breaks down in tears. Malcom takes her place but begins by taking a look at Neil’s portrait. He says that Neil was fantastic at everything he did and that unfortunately, he doesn’t have his brother’s same words. However, he does admit that they had a difficult relationship but it was Neil who always tried to talk some sense into him. Ashley and Jack share glances as Malcolm speaks about his sibling bond with his brother.

After several people speak about their memories with Neil, Devon once again takes the podium and talks about Neil as a father. Even though he doesn’t share the same DNA as Neil, he says that he was the best father that any son could ever hope for. Lily cries again. Devon ends by saying that he knows his father’s voice will always remain in his head.
