General Hospital Recap Monday, February 25: Maxie Back To Square One – Sam Learns Carly’s Pregnant

General Hospital Recap Monday, February 25:

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) might have a problem, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) might have a memory not her own, things are getting more complex with the Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) situation, and Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) is in for a fight. Slight snag…

Sam had to do some fast thinking today after Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) took a tumble thanks to that virus striking the twins of Port Charles. While Jason is being tended to, she tells Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) that he must have followed her. Shiloh doesn’t quite seem to buy it, but she explains away him knowing she was going out by the fact the kids were being babysat. Shiloh’s sure to be on guard now, what with Jason having a gun and following them around.

Later on, she visits Jason’s room after telling Shiloh she had to check in on him because of the kids. While visiting, she gets news of Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) pregnancy. She’d told Jason earlier, so when Carly’s questioning Sam about this Shiloh scheme turned into an argument, he blurted out the news to break things up. And Carly is looking like a model patient right now. Can she make it through those seven months without getting in people’s business and working herself up? Taking bets now.

After Carly excuses herself, Sam tells Jason she has to keep this up more than ever now, and he agrees to have her back. There’s one little problem: they do this with an open door, and then kiss. Guess who just happens to be strolling by Jason’s room for surely non-creepy evil reasons? You guessed it: Shiloh.

The irony of Jordan Ashford

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), meanwhile, is struggling with the news that Jordan’s in bad shape. One kidney is a four on a five-point injury scale, and the other is a two. He bemoans the irony of her being in law enforcement for so many years safely but getting seriously injured like this after getting a desk job. He watches over her, promising that they’re going to go to New Orleans like she wanted as soon as she’s better.

Drew Cain (Billy Miller), who’d hit her last episode after suffering the same sudden blindness that afflicted his brother, is horrified to learn what happened and apologizes to Curtis for the situation. Curtis shows he’s a pretty cool guy by not blaming Drew at all for the situation.

Also related: Stella Henry (Vernee Watson-Johnson) is feeling bad for being so judgmental with Jordan and is going to live up to the example Jordan has set. The last we see them today, Jordan is about to be rushed off to surgery again after her machine starts beeping. And we’re suddenly thinking GH is way better than its NBC counterpart—their machines actually seem to alert someone outside the room…

Foiled again

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is back to square one. She’s got the lab results back, and the DNA isn’t a match. While that sounds like proving her right, she realizes she must have gotten the wrong nail clippings after the second subject is listed as being African-American. Oops. Maybe finding a way to snatch a strand of hair would have been better…

Meanwhile, the situation with Sasha is getting worse. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) wants her out of here to avoid complications, while Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) is desperate to have her “daughter” stay until the wedding. She’s thinking she’s losing Maxie, so she is getting extra attached. Sasha tries to beg out, but concedes to thinking about it when Nina pushes.

By the way… we are cracking up at Valentin apparently needing to ask Peter August (Wes Ramsey) to be his best man. Considering their relationship, it looks like he’s got slim pickings for that honor. Of course, Peter explains to Maxie later that he only accepted to be in a better spying position. Seems he has a few extra tricks Valentin didn’t teach him up his sleeve. BTW—Maxie watching the pair talk from a distance, then seeing them hug was comedy gold.

Fake Memories?

After learning more about the virus situation and how another had improved and built on Arthur Cabot’s (Time Winters) work, Anna decides to question him before sending him into custody. She wants to know if she has any memories that aren’t hers. He suggests she ask her sister about that one but won’t say any more.

Once he leaves, Anna frets about this, and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) tells her that the whole thing sounds far-fetched, so it’s probably not true. Has he not seen this town? We may be new to this, but we’ve heard and seen enough to know anything goes.

Cabot, btw, makes a call to someone after and says there’s a cure. Hmm. Might we see Finola Hughes doing double duty soon? Also… why was he allowed to step aside and make a call? Seems like that wouldn’t be allowed, all things considered.
