‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Tuesday, January 8 Recap – Crossing Lines
The potential war between Hope and Rafe involves several people, including Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi), Gabi, and Ted Laurant (Gilles Marini). It seems that Hope is so determined to get Ben, she’s willing to string along Stefan with false hope that Ted can help him beat that Treason charge, and she’s doing it all behind Rafe’s back.
When Stefan taunts Rafe a bit about how Hope’s trying to help him behind her back with no thought to what Stefan ‘allegedly’ did to Gabi, Rafe starts thinking. He walks in on the end of a conversation where she struck a deal with Ted to represent Stefan and is furious.

We’re slightly sorry for our position yesterday: it seems Hope isn’t stupid enough to think she has any say over a Treason thing, but she does think that by planting false hope in his head, she might be able to convict to crooks with one lie. Gotta hand it to her—she’s persistent.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Hope – Hopeful, Persistent and Obsessed with Ben
Rafe isn’t having it, and calls Hope out for being almost obsessed with the Ben issue and all the lines she’s crossing. He promises her that this is going to end up blowing up in his face.
Meanwhile, Stefan is biding time in holding. Ted comes in and he cracks up. Seriously, he bursts out laughing, and it’s awesome. Ted promises that he wants to help him, if Stefan will leave him be. If that’s the case, he’ll go start pushing for an arraignment now. Stefan says he’s hired, but is disappointed to learn later on there’s no way an arraignment will happen until morning.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Ben Pushed Too Far?
With the exception of Ciara, we have arrived at this conclusion before, and it was cemented now. Ben’s been trying, but no one will let him be. Abigail pushes Ciara to dump him, no one in town will hire him, and Gabi gets in his face and insults him when she runs into him in the park. Because the thing you wanna do with someone you fear is completely unstable and dangerous is to put him into desperation and attack mode…
Seems that so far, Ben is holding strong. He does some thinking and eventually decides that the only employment in town isn’t worth losing Ciara. He goes to the DiMera mansion to resign. We’ll get to what happens there in a minute.
Meanwhile, Ciara has been talking over the issue with Abigail, who’s clearly biased. She tries to tell Ciara the same thing everyone else has, but Ciara says that if anyone should understand someone changing after doing wrong thanks to mental illness, it’s Abigail. Ouch. Talk about a truth bomb… We’ll see if this talk makes any difference, because right now, Abigail is trying to so there is no similarity at all.
‘Days of Our Lives’ – Chad DiMera Surprises Ben
So, we mentioned earlier that Ben went to resign. He gives a whole speech about it at the mansion, thinking he’s talking to Stefan. When the person steps into sight, he learns he’s actually speaking to Chad DiMera. After Stefan’s arrest, he was voted out as CEO by the board, who wanted Kate Dimera to step in. Kate, seeing a chance to make amends, tells Chad that she said the job should go to him. After much convincing, Chad decides to take the job. As such, he informs Ben that he actually works for the DiMera CEO, and that ain’t Stefan anymore. He works for Chad. Hmmm… I’m sure that’s going to help him get back in Abigail’s good graces.
