ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that we know we threw out the possibility of Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) being Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) son and okay there is plausibility there but do we buy it for a minute? No, and I am going to go into some reasons why. For one thing this way way too easy a choice. In fact, it seems to be kind of a lazy writing choice. It’s way too obvious. And another thing Dev took the news way too well. When he was standing in the room and they practically told him that his Dad was alive and in Port Charles the kid was stone faced!

Now this could be because it hasn’t fully registered with him yet but his kind of shell-shock and compartmentalization is usually reserved for world-weary adults, not immigrant teenagers. Dev might come from a different culture but he doesn’t come from a different world entirely! He says he doesn’t miss Turkey at all, the only thing he expressed when he was told his Dad was alive was concern over being sent back to Turkey. Which, okay that is a legit concern for him considering he would be killed if he were deported but that aside he is still a kid! Wouldn’t the thought of his Dad being alive conjure up any sort of emotion in him? Even if he didn’ t know his Dad the thought of having someone that is family that is still alive should very well conjure up some kind of emotion in a kid that young.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What if he had a bad relationship with his Dad?
If he had a bad or strained relationship with him then that could explain some of the emotionlessness we saw when talking about his Dad. But there is something off about the way Dev is expressing emotions. Something that makes me feel that Brando is not his real Dad. He has literally no emotional connection to him whatsoever and even when it was said that his Dad was in the hospital after being shot he was just numb. Kids, even kids with absentee Dads who have horrible relationships with them do not react like that when their actual Dad is in the hospital from being shot unless the child is an actual sociopath but I seriously doubt that is Dev’s case. He cares about other people just fine so I think, unless there is an upcoming scene that turns this theory around that Brando is a red herring. In order to find out if any if that is true or not I guess we’ll have to stay tuned!!
