Hulu’s ‘Run’ stars Sara Paulson as a mother who “loves” her daughter too much, but things aren’t what they seem. In the same vein as ‘Misery’, Paulson’s character confines her wheelchair-bound daughter inside a house with no escape.
It appears that the daughter, (if it even is her daughter) eventually finds out that something isn’t right and she attempts to escape several times, each time she is caught by her mother. There are several comments about what this film centers around, and the general consensus is that Paulson’s character suffers from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP) is a mental health problem in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury in a person under his or her care, such as a child, an elderly adult, or a person who has a disability.
Paulson is purposefully hurting her daughter, or making her sick so that she is not able to be independent. She feels that if her daughter were able to live without her, she probably would. This is going to make for some crazy and intense moments and who better to bring this to the screen than Sarah Paulson?
Coming off hot from her Netflix series ‘Ratched’, we can only expect the best. Starring alongside her will be Kiera Allen, who is wheelchair-bound in real life, not just in the film. We look forward to seeing the full thing and how these two perform off of each other!
Hulu’s ‘Run’ premieres next month, November 20.
