There are a few things promised in life, death, taxes, and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick going off early in the season. Every year it seems we get this magical “Fitzmagic” for a few weeks before it fizzles out. This season, the Harvard graduate hit the record books for this odd stat.
Since entering the league, Fitzpatrick has been a journeyman, playing for several different teams over the years. He’s worn a jersey from Houston to New York to Miami and everywhere in between. And this is exactly where this odd stat comes into play.
In his game with the Jacksonville Jaguars last night on Thursday Night Football (which I lost a few bets on by the way), he led the Miami Dolphins to a big 31-13 win. This made him the first NFL player since at least 1950 to record at least one victory for six different teams against a single opponent, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

NFL News: Ryan “Fitzmagic” Makes The Record Books For This Odd Stat
The journeyman quarterback has now defeated the Jaguars as a member of the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and the New York Jets.
He also made the social media rounds for his post-game interview in which he worse a colorful button-down, left open to expose his chest as hairy as his chin.
“Now being in Florida for going on four years [with the Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers],” Fitzpatrick said, “and being the elder statesman on the team, I’ve adopted more of the senior citizen look, in terms of the touristy shirts. My waistband is sitting a little higher than it used to. But I do like the color. I like the flair, and I would say the chest hair is probably 50-50 on whether people like it or not, and have very strong feelings about it. But the right people in my life like the chest hair. It’s OK to have it out.”
