Yes, this is happening. The hit docuseries from Netflix, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.” is spawning two series based on the larger than life character Joe Exotic, aka Joe Schreibvogel. While a series from NBC, USA Network and Peacock starring Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin is said to be in development, powerhouse streaming service Amazon has landed none other than Nicolas Cage for the role as Joe Exotic for their own series.
Amazon’s version will center around Schreibvogel (Nicolas Cage), the eccentric man who opened his own zoo in Oklahoma who does everything he can to keep his park open, even at the risk of going crazy. The series is said to focus on the character of Joe Exotic and he even lost himself in his own character and explore the origins of the man.

The Netflix docuseries took the world by storm, now, we may be getting two different series about the Tiger King, though I’m already more interested in Amazon’s for the simple fact that they got Nicolas Cage onboard.
