CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that thursday, July 23 was one for the books in Genoa City. Producers took it back to 2008 with a feature from one of the world’s biggest pop stars: Katy Perry.

Of course, it didn’t come easy with such a big name – Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) clashed.

At the time, Nick and Jack were business partners and they are working diligently to plan Katy Perry on the cover of Restless Style. However, they can’t seem to come to an agreement on exactly how to present her as the big highlight. Move over, boys, Katy Perry will have the last say.

Meanwhile, Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) is leaching off of Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) and working for her! Thanks, daughter-in-law for the perks. She’s moved on from her late husband drama and has since shacked up with Jeffrey (Tom Shackelford), but she has competition: enter Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).

What better way to get another woman out of the picture than absolutely butchering her dress? Nothing. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is married to somebody other than Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and turns out, he’s liking them young in 2008! In fact, she’s a friend of his daughter, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

All is fair in love and war…and in Genoa City, of course. Despite things going south in his son’s life, Victor isn’t entertaining Adam Newman’s (Chris Engen) complaints. Oh, marital bliss.

To quiet his problem child, Victor throws a division of the company to run! Everything always goes smoothly when Adam gets some twisted sense of power. What did you think of this episode? It was great to see Katy Perry take on the daytime screen!
