CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers is wondering if Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was better off with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), or if she was really meant to be with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Remember, Victor “stole” Nikki from Jack in the 90s after the two had already been together for a bit. With everything we’ve seen though, we’re starting to think that maybe Nikki would have had a better, less stressful life had she stayed with Jack.
Jack has run Jabot very well, is priming his son Kyle Abbott (Micheal Mealor) to run the company, and doesn’t have much else going on lately except his own battle with feeling a bit lonely at times. He’s been seen talking to people more and more lately as if he’s looking for someone to share his life with. He’s close to retirement and would love companionship. How did Jack get to this point though and why did Nikki choose Victor?

It’s not surprising that Nikki is in love with Victor, he’s smooth, powerful and knows just what to say. It’d be silly not to mention that Nikki has and will always have a special feeling for Jack though. He was there for her when she needed someone, and together they lost a son. It would be tragic for anyone. However, Victor swooped in to “save” Nikki.
Her life with Victor has been luxurious, and she stands behind him no matter what. However, is this all worth the stress she endures almost every day? Not just from her own children with him, but Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). It’s no secret Nikki despises him, and she’s almost lost Victor multiple times because of him, has experienced several life and death situations and it makes us wonder if she doesn’t occasionally look over to Jack’s current life and think, “That could have been me”. Jack isn’t without his own issues, but compared to Victor and the Newman family, it seems like pennies on the dollar. What do you think?
