Lifetime ‘Married at First Sight’ Spoilers indicate that cast member, Jamie Otis, has gotten a lot of backlash since the pandemic began. Her family flew to Florida for a vacation and she pretty much blew off the fact that the coronavirus was spreading. She later apologized to her fans and poured her heart out about how she felt that it was not necessary to put her whole family in danger like that. Jamie is expecting her second child and she reached out to her fans on Instagram to talk about a home birth. Now she is talking about the home birth and why they made this choice.

Lifetime ‘Married at First Sight’ Spoilers: Catching Up with Fans About Home Births!

Jamie and her husband, Doug Hehner were interviewed this week and they had a lot to say to fans about their home birth. Jamie is a nurse so she has a little knowledge on the pros and cons of a home birth. “You learn in nursing school that the safest place is the hospital to have a baby because then they have everything there handy. God forbid an emergency happens last minute.”

Jamie and Doug have done a lot of research on having a home birth. “The fact that I may or may not be able to be support person at the delivery in the hospital and what do we do with our daughter if I can’t leave the hospital? At least with our house, we know it’s a more controlled environment. The pros…outweigh the cons of everything else,” Doug said.

The couple said that this is all their choice and it is not something they want fans to think they are pushing. They decided on the home birth because of all the sickness that is going on right now. “What if my baby contracts it and he’s stuck in the hospital in the midst of this pandemic? It’s was just a nightmare.” Jamie has been thinking of all of the horrible things that could happen and she just wants to be as safe as she can with this birth so close.

Jamie is trying to be as healthy and safe with this birth as possible. She has suffered miscarriages before and doesn’t want to put her son in any more danger. “I thought having a family would be very easy, so my own misconception about myself was that I would be able to have a family very easily. Come to find out, it’s not as easy…and come to find out, one in four women will have these same issues.”
