The lockdown across the globe continues, and the millions of sporting fans are left wondering what they can do to pass the time. The sporting calendar has been decimated due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and that is leaving sports documentaries as the only way to scratch that sporting itch. But, what should you be watching over the next couple of weeks?

Sporting Documentaries: Rugby- All Or Nothing

The Amazon Prime series ‘All or Nothing’ has already boasted some of the best insights in world sport. There are seasons already based on the Brazilian national side and Manchester City, but our personal favourite is the one based on New Zealand.

The All Blacks are the most dominant side to have played rugby, with the Kiwis having won two of the past three World Cups. This All or Nothing series follows them during the 2017 Lions Tour, and is a must-watch for fans of sport at the very highest level.

Sporting Documentaries: Formula 1- Drive To Survive

Formula 1 is often a sport that is lamented for being boring, but this documentary will prove that it is anything but that. The Netflix series has 20 episodes and follows all the teams throughout the pulsating season.

There is access all areas with the drivers, team owners and manufacturers. The series offers an insight unlike anything else into life as a formula 1 driver, and you will have a completely different outlook on the sport after watching.

    Sporting Documentaries: WWE- Ruthless Aggression

The WWE Network is a must-have for all wrestling fans. There are a lot of interesting documentaries on the network, but one of the newest releases is also one of the best. The Ruthless Aggression series is five episodes long; with a further five episodes likely to be added towards the end of the year.

The show focuses on the WWE between the years of 2002 and 2008. All the episodes focus on different aspects of that era, with the middle three focusing on some of the biggest superstars that broke through during that time frame. It is a must-watch for all fans of WWE.

    Sporting Documentaries: Soccer- Diego Maradona

There aren’t many more controversial stars in the world of sport that Diego Maradona. This film tells the story of his life through the ups and downs. The film is directed by Asif Kapadia, who was also the man behind Senna. The biggest drawing point is the use of previously unseen footage of the Argentinean legend.

Maradona was a pulverising figure throughout his career, but that didn’t stop many believing that he was, and still is, the best player to have ever played the game. He endured a fall from grace due to drugs problems, while his controversial moments are highlighted throughout this excellent film.
