CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) have been a dynamic on-again off-again romance over the past several years. After a rollercoaster of passion over the past few weeks, Y&R fans are beginning to wonder whether Phyllis and Nick will actually pan out this time, or whether their romance will end in heartbreak again.
At Nick’s home, Phyllis and Nick seem to get into a bit of an argument. The couple is clearly struggling with their feelings toward one another, and there seems to be a spar. Both Phyllis and Nick have strong personality types, and it always shows during their conversations.

The couple always end up at a standstill because each of them are too stubborn to let the other win. Nick reminds Phyllis that he believes a romance between them would be an awful idea. Phyllis shoots back with, “It never crossed my mind”. After their romance talk, Phyllis suggests that Nick take the CEO seat during Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) recovery. Phyllis doesn’t want to see Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) take over Newman Enterprises. Following this conversation, they two add a little humour and flirtatiousness into the conversation. The two are shocked that either of them are single. Phyllis shoots back that she believes her and Nick are better as friends before explaining that he makes her weak and can seduce her easily.
Nick takes this as an invitation and moves toward Phyllis and she lets her guard down. She can’t let him hurt her again – even if she loves him. Nick agrees to being friends before he grabs Phyllis’ hand and they begin passionately kissing. The only thing more confusing than Nick and Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) romance is Nick and Phyllis. The two constantly spar and seem to replace vulnerability with “I told you so”. After having hurt each other so many times, it’s a wonder that the couple continues to go back to old ways. If there’s anything that ‘Young and the Restless’ audience can be sure of, it’s that Nick and Phyllis’ romance will have plenty speedbumps and road blocks – it’s never smooth sailing for them.
