CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) made a big deal about going to the Newman’s 50th Anniversary Gala together. Not only were there things that overshadowed them, like an attack on Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). People flat out didn’t seem to care at all.
All week we had Kyle and Summer in our face with their work PDA and professing their love to one another. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) even spoke to Kyle, and them together on more than one occasion about not making this public and rushing into anything too quick. They could care less. They thought they’d be the talk of the night. No one cared, in fact about the most we saw of them was Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes) bumping into Kyle, and Kyle gathering napkins.

Is this really a surprise? The two kids who thought the world eyes would be on them were completely ignored. It honestly made my day better. Like most viewers, we’re tired of the stuff between Kyle, Summer, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Nothing made me happier than when literally everyone else had a bigger part of the evening. We’re all tired of watching them like lovesick puppy dogs.
It was an eventful night at the Newman Gala. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) proposed to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), again. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) told Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about her breast cancer. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shared a kiss, blah. Plus, the whole Ripley tabbing Victoria deal. Hopefully, this was a way of telling us it’s not a big deal anymore, and we can get on with the exciting and interesting storylines. What do you think?
