Prince Harry’s efforts to repair his relationship with the royal family appear to have stalled — at least for now.
According to a new report from Us Weekly, any progress toward reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and his relatives is currently “on hold.”
Sources suggest that while there had been some movement toward healing in recent months, things have since cooled off. One insider explained,
“There were moments that felt promising, but right now, things are on pause. It’s complicated, and emotions are still raw.”
A Complicated Path to Reconciliation
Harry, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, has had a strained relationship with key members of the monarchy ever since. Despite occasional signs of improvement — including reported attempts to reopen communication — insiders say there hasn’t been much forward momentum lately.
A source close to the palace told Us Weekly,
“Harry wants things to work, but trust has to be rebuilt slowly. It’s not something that can happen overnight.”
Life in California vs. Royal Ties
While the royal rift remains unresolved, Harry has built a very different life across the Atlantic.
Now based in California with Meghan Markle and their children, the prince is said to be focused on his family and personal projects.
“He’s happy in his own space, raising his kids and pursuing his passions,” the source said. “That doesn’t mean he’s given up on the family, but it does give him perspective and time to heal.”

The divide between Harry and senior royals, including King Charles III and Prince William, continues to be a major factor in the stalled healing process.
One insider noted,
“There’s still a lot to work through. Both sides want to mend things, but there’s no clear timeline. Every interaction carries weight, and both sides are treading carefully.”

While the door isn’t fully closed, Us Weekly reports that both sides may need space before real progress can resume.
