CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers tell us that it’s a special day for soap alum Justin Hartley! Hartley has had a few runs on soaps in his life. Way back in 2002, for four years Hartley played the character of Nicholas Foxworth “Fox” Crane on NBC/DirecTV soap opera ‘Passions’. After that, he was cast in the pilot for ‘Aquaman’ as the aquatic superhero himself, unfortunately, it never went anywhere. Luckily for Hartley, he found a spot as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on the very popular Superman show ‘Smallville’.

Between 2014-2016, Hartley played the role of Adam Newman on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His portrayal of the baddie with a heart earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor category. Not bad for only a few years! After he had to leave the show, it was presumed Adam had died in an explosion.

Unfortunately, Hartley had to say goodbye to the role after landing a spot on ‘This Is Us’ as Kevin Pearson. A down on his luck after who was appearing in a popular fake television show ‘The Manny’. He finds no passion in this and up and quits one day. Due to his commitment to ‘This Is Us’, he couldn’t juggle two television series. It wouldn’t be until three years later in 2019 that Mark Grossman would be cast in the role of Adam Newman. Though he has performed the role, there’s no doubt that viewers miss Hartley.

Today is a day for Justin Hatley to remember though! He celebrates his 43rd birthday and ‘The Young and the Restless’ fans are wishing him a happy birthday!
