Meghan Markle made many mistakes during her brief career in the royal family. Former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Tina Brown recently said that Meghan never makes the right decision.
Unfortunately, this is very true. One of the Duchess of Sussex’s major royal blunders is her refusal to follow royal protocol.
Meghan Didn’t Appreciate How The Royal Family Works Together
Meghan never seemed to understand that no one person in the royal family is more important than allegiance to the crown. The royal family works well because it works together.
An example of her utter lack of respect for the institution was when Meghan Markle infamously made a mock bow to the Queen in Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary. She was making fun of the whole royal system.
Meghan never even tried to follow the rules. She didn’t respect Queen Elizabeth, period. Curtseying to the Queen is just part of the deal.
Another significant no-no was when she announced at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018 that she was pregnant.
Speculation abounded that she was trying to outshine the bride and that Meghan Markle was salty that the Queen’s granddaughter got to wear the emerald tiara she had asked to wear at her wedding to Harry, but she was denied.
She didn’t understand that in the royal family, blood reigns supreme. Eugenie is a real Princess, and Meghan’s ego couldn’t accept that she couldn’t get whatever she wanted.
The Duchess’s Style Lacked Class
Meghan deserved her “Duchess Difficult” reputation. She always complained that she was treated unfairly because she wasn’t granted her every desire.
Meghan should have also taken her style cues from Kate Middleton. Meghan wore a lot of black and sleeveless ensembles, and royals aren’t supposed to do that. She would also look wrinkled and unkempt. Kate, on the other hand, always looks appropriate.
Even Meghan’s wedding dress was hideous, dull, ill-fitted, and wrinkled, especially compared to Princess Catherine, who looked like actual royalty in her lacy and regal Alexander McQueen wedding dress.
Meghan has also been known to behave inappropriately and do weird things that royals just shouldn’t do. For example, in February 2019, she wrote positive affirmations on bananas for sex workers.
She heard of classrooms doing this for school children and thought writing inspirational quotes on bananas for sex workers was a good idea. Messages like “You Are Brave,” “You Are Strong,” and “You Are Special” were written on bananas and handed out to them.
Meghan Markle Lied To The Press About Her Birth Plan
When she was pregnant with Archie, she would constantly clutch her belly to highlight the fact that she was pregnant and play up her pregnancy for photo opportunities. It made her look tacky.
Speaking of the baby bump, there is an unspoken social contract for royalty that says that because royalty provides taxpayer benefits, things like birth plans are supposed to be shared with the public. She lied to the press that she was in labor after she had already given birth to Archie.
By doing this, she looks like she’s trying to garner attention. She also didn’t follow through with the public presentation of Archie at the hospital, which is what members of the royal family are supposed to do.
Meghan utilized British taxpayer dollars to have a flashy, million-dollar baby shower in New York City. She wasted resources to do this, and she did this so that the paparazzi would follow her around, snapping pictures.
Meghan’s Motivation Was To Use Her Royal Titles For Personal Gain
Meghan’s sole motivation for using her royal title was to network so that she could facilitate her “Megxit” back to Los Angeles. This is why Meghan invited famous people to her wedding that she didn’t know.
For example, George and Amal Clooney were invited but didn’t know Harry and Meghan, and Oprah was invited but didn’t know them.
Meghan Markle pretends she’s close to her “famous friends” to make herself look more important than she really is. Case in point: she never fails to mention her friendship with tennis pro-Serena Williams.
In the same vein, she emptied out the Wimbledon stand for herself and her friends. Meghan denied other people the seats they paid for because she thought she was above everyone else. It made her appear selfish and elitist. By doing this, she threw her royalty in everyone’s face in the ugliest way.
Meghan lacks the decorum and class of a true royal. She manipulated the system as her only goal was to use her royal titles for commercial gain. Ultimately, she only has herself to blame for not being a successful and well-respected member of the royal family.
