Meghan Markle claims to be a true feminist. She is always quick to refer to her position on equality and anti-sexism. However, is it real or another phony aspect of the Duchess?
When Meghan was in Britain, she allegedly bullied the palace staff, and most of the people who have come forward to reveal her abusive behavior were women.
Meghan Shared Her Soap Commercial Story In Columbia
Meghan’s “feminism” doesn’t appear to be about women uplifting women; it seems more about women uplifting Meghan. Everything Meghan does serves only Meghan.
The latest example of this was at a summit in Columbia where she, once again, told her go-to story about how, when she was eleven years old, she authored a letter to P&G, calling them out for a sexist soap commercial.
According to Meghan, they changed the advertisement because of her letter. She always tells this story as if it’s the most impressive thing anyone has ever done.
Meghan tells this tale mainly so that people see her the way she wants to be seen. She only cares about her image, not the cause she claims to champion.
It’s obvious when she goes to events where she speaks to the audience that she’s incredibly self-indulgent and thinks very highly of herself. Prince Harry is always there to reinforce Meghan’s unwavering belief that she’s the most important woman in the world.
Harry and Meghan go to these countries for attention. When she was in Nigeria, the people called her “Princess Meghan,” and she didn’t bother to correct them. That’s not being a true feminist and owning who you are. It only increases the false perception she has of herself.
Meghan Markle Spoke At A Feminist Event Called SXSW
A few months ago, Meghan spoke on a panel with Katie Couric, Brooke Shields, and a few other women at a feminist event called SXSW. Meghan was introduced as a “feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity,” which rings false because Meghan is only charitable when it suits her.
Meghan Markle and the others discussed a “life-changing” topic: how women are portrayed in TV shows. She talked about TV not representing women equally or depicting “real” women.
Female “representation” is a typical “Meghan Markle” topic because she believes she is the best representation for women, even though besides “Suits,” no one knew who she was until she married a prince. Marrying into the royal family is how she got to where she is now.
She also said that if women don’t see themselves positively represented on screen, they won’t feel like they can achieve what they want in life and believe in themselves.
It’s a very narrow-minded and shallow way of thinking. Most women achieve things because they work hard and aren’t afraid to go after what they want, not because they see someone who looks like them on TV.
Meghan Believes She Is The Sole Reason Proctor & Gamble Changed The Ivory Dish Soap Commercial
Not so interestingly enough, at this event, Meghan was asked to tell the soap story. She lit up like a Christmas tree. By that point, she had repeated it about ten thousand times.
Every chance Meghan gets, she tells the infamous Proctor & Gamble story. Meghan believes that she changed a multi-million-dollar ad campaign. She is so desperate to be seen as a feminist that she uses this personal anecdote as her signature “feminist” story.
Meghan believes that she, a single eleven-year-old child, was responsible for the powers -that- be changing the commercial. The purpose of Meghan telling this ridiculous story is not to make people realize they can change unfavorable outcomes but solely to elevate her.
Meghan is so hyper-focused on impressing people and being a “good” feminist that it comes across as ingenuine. She’s a good actress, but you can still see through her façade.
She repeats stories and relies on her feminist persona ad nauseam in an effort to make sure everyone hears how progressive she is. In the end, it always feels like she’s playing a role.
