Emily was under the impression that he was single when they met, but after talking to his friends, it seems as if he was taken.
When Emily heard this news, she was shocked by it. She thought that there was no one else but her at the time and it looks as if there was. Even though Emily and Kobe are married and have children together, it didn’t seem to bother her as much as his friends thought that it would.
