Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden spoilers: Stupid games, stupid prizes

Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden spoilers show this anthology series keeps taking on the hard topics. The Wednesday, January 1st episode especially surprised us. It dealt with an issue that’s in the news only occasionally, and doesn’t really get talked about in shows. We’re talking about the dark side of social media. Let’s see what went down.

Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden—product of the culture

The episode is centered around a guy named David and the effect he ultimately has on two families thanks to his need for fame. He’s apparently big on social media because he does the (usually stupid) challenges found online. In particular, he decides to do one where one has to get out of a car while it’s moving, then jump back in. Yes, it looks as stupid as it sounds. We honestly can’t imagine why stuff like this is so popular online. However, his friend, Fernando, is about to experience the consequences of this act.

Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden—High price for internet fame

Poor Fernando’s father, Silverio (Ceaser Mora) owns the car David is driving when he pulls this stunt. When it hits a pregnant woman riding a cart, Silverio is put into an impossible situation. He decides to sacrifice himself for his child, taking the blame for the accident. Mariana (Alejandra Miranda), Silverio’s wife, objects to this, but ultimately allows this false confession. It isn’t until Catalina, David’s girlfriend, sees the video on his phone that the real culprit is known. This is where the network shines a light on the current culture and what it can do.

    Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden—Loser

David is the huge loser here. He seriously has no self-awareness or shame. Literally the next night, he’s hosting some drinking challenge at a party and broadcasting it over social media. Not even Fernando confronting him about the news reports upsets him. When Catalina sees the video and confronts him about it, he shows nothing but entitlement, attitude, and stupidity. It’s truly showing the worse of us. And it shows how destructive it can be so invested in online fame you forget to be a person.

    Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden—Winners

Luckily, David’s stupidity helps Fernando and family. David was smug as can be as he deleted the video from his phone after getting called out by Catalina. He didn’t consider she’d sent the video to herself. Because of her fast thinking, the real person to blame faces what’s coming to him and the innocent walk.

As an added bonus, Alberto, David’s dad, stands by Silverio, who works for him. He also offered assistance to Gloria, the woman who was injured and her father, Alberto.

Decisiones: Unos ganan, otros pierden spoilers—Side note

We haven’t recognized most of the actors in these episode, despite the all-star cast listing. This episode saw two familiar faces make their contribution to the anthology series. Ceaser Mora played Marcial Berrera in the Paraíso franchise. His onscreen wife, Alejandra Miranda debuted in the franchise in its final season as Reina. This little glimpse makes us wish we could’ve seen them in action as their drug trafficker alter egos.

She’s a recent Days of Our Lives convert, having grown up on the nighttime shows of the '90s. She’s also an accomplished writer in many fields, including paranormal fiction. Jamie loves the crazy twists that Soap Opera writers come up with, even though she's sometimes yelling at the characters. As a published and accomplished writer, she knows how to get into the minds of the writers and is usually bang on in predicting plot twists before they come to life. When she’s not writing for Daily Soap Dish, Jamie binge watches telenovelas as a way to improve her Spanish. They also fuel her muse, which tends to upset her readers.
