While Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon frequently find themselves at odds, that didn’t deter the former Fox News anchor from extending congratulations to Don for joining him on Team X.
Don recently entered into a partnership with X, formerly Twitter, where he is set to host a new 30-minute show three times a week. This move follows his departure from CNN last year. The parallel between their situations is evident, as Tucker already hosts a show on X.
Lemon made his announcement saying, “I’ve heard you… and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer! My new media company’s first project is The Don Lemon Show. It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and wherever you want it, streaming on the platforms where the conversations are happening. And you’ll find it first on X, the biggest space for free speech in the world. I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors. This is just the beginning so stay tuned.”
Notably, both Tucker and Don were let go on the same day, prompting Tucker to offer his congratulations to Don, acknowledging the changing landscape with the words, “Congratulations. It’s a new world.”
Odds And Ends: Tucker Carlson WELCOMES Don Lemon To X For His New Show With “No Hall Monitors”
However, the history of animosity between them hasn’t completely dissipated. Don responded in a polite yet somewhat reserved manner, saying, “Thanks Tucker.” Their past disagreements were marked by Tucker deliberately mispronouncing Don’s name and making insults, while Don critiqued Tucker for what he perceived as outlandish opinions.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Don described Elon Musk’s platform as “a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors.” It remains to be seen how these two hosts, who have a history of feuding, will navigate being in the same space.
