The Heritage Foundation is taking legal action against the Biden administration to coerce officials to release Prince Harry’s immigration files to find out if he disclosed his use of illegal drugs before obtaining his visa.
Prince Harry has been accused of supporting illicit drug usage in his tell-all memoir, “Spare.” In his book, he admitted to using cocaine, marijuana, magic mushrooms, and another hallucinogen called ayahuasca.
Prince Harry’s Statement, “Psychedelics Did Me Some Good”
In the wise words of the Duke of Sussex,
“Psychedelics did me some good.”
Harry goes on to add:
“It was the cleaning of the windscreen, the removal of life’s filters, these layers of filters. It removed it all for me and brought me a sense of relaxation, relief, comfort, a lightness that I had managed to hold back for a period of time.”
According to Prince Harry, drugs helped him cope with his past traumas. The Duke explained that in the beginning, he experimented recreationally. Then, he discovered how good it was for him. He said that the use of marijuana helped him deal with the trauma of his mother, Princess Diana’s death.
After the book’s publication, conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security. They were investigating how and why the Prince was even allowed into the US in 2020 and why he was allowed to remain in the country.
The Biden Administration responded by arguing that visa records are “private personal information.” They are planning on fighting the case. There is also an investigation as to whether Prince Harry was treated favorably when he applied for a US visa.
The Heritage Foundation is arguing back, claiming that Harry forfeited his right to privacy when he published a tell-all memoir with an explicit glimpse into his private life.
The Heritage Foundation said,
“This case comes about in the main because his Royal Highness voluntarily, and for immense profit, admitted in writing to the elements of any number of controlled substance violations.”
Prince Harry Bragged About His Drug Use
Some people would go as far as to say that Prince Harry bragged about his drug use to an embarrassing degree.
The Duke of Sussex made these admissions, knowing it could negatively affect his status as a citizen. He had legal advisors in the UK and the US who reviewed the rules with him.
The Heritage Foundation also emphasized Prince Harry’s role as a significant public figure.
“significantly reduces his privacy interests.”
Harry has cried that he wants privacy but has shared the most intimate details of his life, and that includes his drug use.
Not to mention his anecdote about his “frostbitten penis,” which he discussed in “Spare.” The Duke’s claim that he wants privacy has subject him to public ridicule.
The Acting Associate Center Director for FOIA explained that even though Harry is a public figure, he has not given up his right to privacy.
In August of this year, the “SPARE” act was issued (no pun intended). It is the Substance and Possession Abuse Restrictions for Entrance Act.
Under this law, citizens who lied about drug use on their visa request would trigger the Homeland Security Secretary to commence an investigation.
