‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) got what he wished for. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) returned to the fold after realizing his intentions of sabotaging the family business was deeply misguided.
Thankfully, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) prevented Kyle from telling his father what he was involved in. But this is daytime, so the audience knows Diane likely only bought Kyle time.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is skeptical about his nephew’s return. He recognized Kyle’s reckless behavior in recent months because it mimicked moments in his backstory to a degree.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Realizing What Was Wanted At Jabot?
The intentions are good. Jack resisted Kyle’s plea, that he returns to the spot he departed in the recent past. That was a wise move on Jack’s part.
Alienating Billy would have swapped one problem for another. Waiting Kyle out and behaving like his father, rather than his friend as some parents are wrong to do in Genoa City, Wisconsin, was right.
Yet, allowing Kyle back in will extend the Abbott mansion living room rivalry into the workplace.
The friend line in the last paragraph was a wink to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who is enduring issues with her offspring because she stepped out of her maternal role on too many occasions and allowed Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) to lose respect for her.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Billy Abbott Living Responsibly
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) can be credited for helping Billy to mature. Her positive, supportive influence allowed him to boost that part of his characters by multiples while they were together.
It was a bit unusual when TPTB wrote Billy and Lily to an amicable split so that he could reunite with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). However, daytime has to include change because of its year-round schedule.
Through it all, Billy stabilized his psyche and was ready to assume responsibility at the family business, as opposed to when he bought Jaboat.
And the reference to the yacht Billy purchased with company funds remains one of the more hilarious play on words in recent script history. Thompson’s character is no longer that reckless gambler.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Kyle Abbott’s Risk Is Great
Attempting to ferret information out of Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is a major risk.
Kyle is doing so because his mother is cheering him on, believing the tall task can be accomplished and then presented to Jack as a gift that will lead to him being given Billy’s job.
Jack would never approve of this scheme. Beyond its dangerous nature, he wants his son and brother to be major players at Jabot. Kyle and Diane want Billy out, which puts them at odds with Jack’s known wishes.
Jabot is already in danger due to Tucker’s takeover plan. Attempting to thwart it without Jack and Billy’s knowledge seems foolhardy and destined for drama on Y&R.
